Man charged with arson following industrial fire in Hastings
A 47-year-old Hastings man has been arrested in relation to a fire in an industrial area off Omahu Road last week.
Emergency services were called to the incident between James Rochfort Pl and Kirkwood Rd at about 9.20pm last Friday.
The fire caused significant damage to an industrial property.
In a statement, police said the man had been charged with arson, unlawfully being in a closed yard and two charges of unlawfully in a building.
He has been remanded in custody to October 19.
