No new community cases; two new cases of COVID-19 in managed isolation

There are two new positive cases of Covid-19 in managed isolation and no new cases in the community since yesterday.

Both new cases arrived from India via the United Arab Emirates. One case arrived on April 2 and was part of a travel bubble with two previously reported cases. They were transferred from their initial managed isolation facility in Auckland to an Auckland quarantine facility on April 4.

The second case arrived on April 5 and had contact with a confirmed case while in transit. They have now been transferred from their initial managed isolation facility in Auckland to an Auckland quarantine facility.

Both of today’s cases arrived before travel from India was suspended overnight on April 11. 

The seven-day rolling average of new cases detected at the border is 2.

The total number of active cases in New Zealand today is 102. One previously reported case has now recovered and another previously reported case has been reclassified to ‘under investigation.’

The total number of confirmed cases is 2,240.

Since January 1 2021, there have been 48 historical cases, out of a total of 424 cases. 

The total number of tests processed by laboratories to date is 1,974,755.

On Sunday, 2,113 tests were processed.

The seven-day rolling average up to yesterday is 4,266 tests processed.
