Taradale Women's Federation Cup footballers lose in Palmy
Taradale's Federation Cup women's football team lost 3-2 to Massey in Palmerston North today.
The match was played in wet and cold conditions and the Taradale side (pictured above) made a promising start Player-coach Aleesha Heywood celebrated her return from injury with an early goal.
Massey worked their way back into the game and scored the equaliser shortly before the halftime whistle. Jamie Evans put the visitors ahead 2-1 but Massey replied with two goals of their own to secure the win.
MVP points for the Taradale side were: 3 Olivia Harding, 2 Tyla Henman, 1 Aleesha Heywood.
